We are looking for an awesome, creative, energetic, passionate registered ECE Teacher with great leadership skills to work with us to set up a homebased childcare in the Wairoa region. We have the children and a mentor who can help us get registered. We are looking for…
You will be an Early Childhood Teacher with an ability to build strong relationships with children and adults. Have the knack to inspire others which will in turn enhance their educational learning opportunities.
You’ll be a leader, creative, flexible, full of energy and passionate about making a difference in Early Childhood. Enjoy communicating; have good time management and ICT skills, and a knowledge of Te Reo would be a major advantage.
Our core purpose is to set up a home based childcare for our Village and perhaps the wider Wairoa community. We want to offer each child within the village the opportunity to develop and achieve uniquely. This means you as a Teacher will be full of integrity, able to empower others through noticing, recognising and responding, and always go the extra mile.
You do need to be a qualified ECE teacher (with full registration). Entrepreneurial in nature as this is a start up with support from highly experienced ECE experts and a waiting list of children.
What will the job entail:
Your role is many, varied and flexible! But in a given month your role will include the following:
- Providing home based childcare initially as the service grows
- Providing a stimulating, planned, fun learning experience for children from the village
- Working with Whanau to create planned activities for children in your care
- Research the benefits of starting a small childcare vs growing home based childcare
- Eventually recruiting educators as numbers grow if necessary
- Visiting children in Educators home (if recruited), providing support and resources
- Writing photographic learning stories for your children
- Organising Playgroups and Community Outings
- Marketing the service in your community
- Having a lot of fun with a great team!
